Adding albums to the database is quick and █ █ easy, no typing needed. Just insert a CD in your █ █ CD-ROM drive, scan its barcode or type artist and █ █ title. Music Collector will automatically █ █ download all information from various sources on █ █ the internet (like CDDB, Amazon and AMG), █ █ including the cover image. It can also read █ █ CDTEXT information, if available. The resulting █ █ list can be sorted, searched, grouped, printed or █ █ exported to HTML or ASCII. Read on for more █ █ details. █ █ █ █ Adding Albums to the database █ █ █ █ The screen "Add Albums by Searching Info Sources" █ █ lets you add albums by retrieving album █ █ information from various online and offline █ █ information sources. You can search the info █ █ sources in 3 ways: █ █ █ █ By scanning CDs in your computer █ █ By scanning the barcode of the CD or LP. █ █ By typing artist and title █ █ After you have added one or more searches to the █ █ Search Queue (screen 1), click Search and the █ █ search results will be shown in the queue. Now █ █ just select the correct results and click Add to █ █ Collection. Music Collector will then retrieve █ █ the full info, including a cover picture if it is █ █ available. (screen 2) █ █ If you want, you can add more information about █ █ CDs manually, in the Edit Album screen, e.g. add █ █ the Catalog Number (screen 3) or some personal █ █ info (e.g. Purchase store and price) (screen 4). █ █ █ █ Using the database █ █ █ █ Once you have entered a number of CDs you can █ █ view the list on the main screen, e.g. as a █ █ simple list of all albums (screen 5). It is also █ █ possible to browse your collection of albums █ █ while viewing them grouped by artist (screen 6) █ █ or by genre (screen 7) or by other fields and █ █ even combination of fields. █ █ The right side of the screen either shows a list █ █ with multiple columns (you can choose which █ █ columns) or small images of the album covers █ █ (screen 8). █ █ In Track View you can view lists of tracks, █ █ either grouped or as a simple list (screen 9). █ █ █ █ All lists can be sorted instantly, on any field, █ █ e.g. alphabetically on artist, title or label, or █ █ sorted on release date or purchase date. Using █ █ the "incremental search" functions you can find █ █ items quickly.
